Marvin J. Morlock, 84, of York Township, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Marvin was born in Columbia Hills Township, Ohio on September 10, 1933, to the late Victor and Helen (nee Reutter) Morlock. He moved to York Township in 1939.
Marvin was United States Army Veteran. He was lifelong farmer who did custom corn picking for area farmers and he drove fuel truck for Julian Perkins, Elyria for several years. Marvin was a member of Medina County Farm Bureau and served on the York Township Zoning Board and the Appeals Board. He was a member of the Erhart Volunteer Fire Department for many years and a 4-H Advisor for 20 years. In later years, he enjoyed working with wood, making decorative yard figurines and mini straw bales.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Doris, married 58 years; daughter, Ann Morlock (Jim Williams), Bruce Morlock and the late Jimmy D. Morlock; grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Morlock and Janell Sellers; great-grandchildren, Conrad Morlock and Ethan Sellers; brother, Kenneth Morlock and niece Pam Johnston.
Celebration of life service will be held 11 A.M., Monday, July 9, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2233 Abbeyville Road, Valley City. Pastor Jim Watson will officiate. Following Marvin's wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial will be held in York Cemetery, Mallet Creek at a later date.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City.
