Raymond Louis Oiler

Raymond Louis Oiler, 67, of Doylestown, died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Barberton Summa Hospital after a six month battle with cancer. Ray was born November 14, 1949 in Akron to the late Louis and Katherine (Pfaff) Oiler and was a 1968 graduate of Rittman High School.

On June 9, 1972, he married Ava Sue Plummer, who survives and they made their home in Doylestown for the past 17 years, previously residing in Rittman. Ray retired in 2015 from Carlisle Manufacturing in Medina, enjoyed camping and following the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved attending his grandkids sporting events and trips to the beach.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sue; daughters, Brandy Oiler and her fiancee, Rob Foster of Rittman and Melanie and her husband, Jeff Lewis of Red Bank, New Jersey; grandchildren, Julia, Skylar, Trista, Jashaia, Tucker and Chloie; brother, Jack Oiler of Rittman and nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Michael in 1973 and Jamey in 2009.

In honoring Ray's wishes, a family service will be held at a later date with interment at Burbank Cemetery.
