Paul E. Douglas, 61, of Ivydale, West Virginia, died peacefully Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Hospice of Medina County, after a 32 month courageous battle with brain cancer. Paul was born March 1, 1956 in Gassaway, West Virginia, to Ralph and Hilda (Starcher) Douglas and was a 1974 graduate of Cloverleaf High School.
He retired from the Ford Motor Company having worked at the Brook Park Plant and later worked at SMH Construction in Ivydale. He attended the Ivydale Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling and following the Browns, Mountainers, Cavs, Indians and Buckeyes. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; daughter, Heather (Jason) Hohn of Wadsworth; step-daughters, Crissy (Jeff) Summers and Kelly Paxton both of Ivydale; grandchildren, Tyler Gentry, Alexis and Tommy Hohn and Seth and Asia Summers; his mother, Hilda Douglas of Wadsworth; sisters, Suzy (Guy) Hamilton of Cape Coral, Florida, Cindy (Frank) McCrork of Wadsworth and Hope Papke of Parma; nieces and nephews, Brian (Cari), David, Brennon, Gabe and Corey; great-niece and great-nephew, Liam and Harper; many friends and extended family including three aunts and many cousins and his beloved dog and friend, Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Douglas in 2008.
Friends may call Saturday, September 10, 2017 from 12 to 2 P.M., at Murray Funeral Home, in Creston where services will be held at 2 P.M. Further services will be held at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home in Clay, West Virginia. Paul's final resting place will be in his wild, wonderful West Virginia.
