Mildred J. Tallhamer, 86, of Oberlin, passed away Thursday, March 16 2017, at New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, after a long illness. She was born September 27, 1930, in Coal Run, Ohio.
Mildred was a member of Crossroads Community Church of Oberlin and enjoyed needle point, camping, puzzles, baking, flower gardening, watching the Cleveland Indians and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Tallhamer I of Oberlin; daughter, Violet Johnson of Lorain; three sons, Clarence (Loretta) Kilzer Bartow of Florida, Kevin (Mona) Kilzer of Seville and Robert L. (Gail) Tallhamer II of Elyria; five grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren and brother, Ralph Dobbins of Coal Run, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Violet Dobbins; one brother and eight sisters.
Visitaion will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017, from 6 until 8 P.M., at the Cowling Funeral Home in Oberlin. Services will be Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home, with Pastor Santo Dabila, of Crossroads Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in New Russia Township Cemetery, following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
