Michael Allen Hettinger, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He was born in Berea on January 8, 1947, to the late Marvin F. and Maxine R. (Vadnais) Hettinger.
Michael honorably served as a U.S. Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War. He loved nature and gardening. Michael enjoyed casino hopping and traveling to National Parks. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Michael is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda (Payne) Hettinger; children, Danny (Nicole) Hettinger, Crystal Hettinger and Timothy (Jenny) Deeter; grandchildren, Joseph Hettinger, Candis Madigan, Jason Hettinger, Thomas, Kaylea and Marrissa Deeter, Jake Palmer, Joshua Gunnoe, Ireland Cool; great-grandchildren, Colton, Danny, Leah; brothers, Raymond, Wesley (Karen), Kenneth (Lori); sisters, Maxine (JR) Stotler, Colleen Hettinger, LaVonne (David) Hudson, Carmen Kincaid and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin, Jr. and Robert.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, 44273. Kindly meet at the welcome center at 2:20 P.M. A remembrance gathering will also be held on Thursday from 4 until 6 P.M., at Grace Baptist Church, 3480 Laurel Rd., Brunswick, 44212.
