Rory Korzan

Rory Korzan is the recipient of the EPIC award at Springboro High School! The award is given to teachers from each building in the district by the administration and parents organization at the end of each year. The award’s name stands for Engage, Prepare, Inspire and Challenge.

Rory is the son of Joyce Korzan of Elyria and the late Julius Korzan. He is a graduate of St. Mary School and a 1984 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. He spent two years at Lorain County Community College, then transferred to the University of Dayton and graduated in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in education. He received his master’s degree in chemistry and Advanced Placement physics from Wright State University in 1999. Rory has taught 11th- and 12th-grade students at Springboro High School, which is south of Dayton, since 1989. He and his students entered into competition for design and building robots that fought in Robot Wars.

Rory and his wife, Brenda, live in Miamisburg with their five children, Makenna, Caden, Kolton, Ashlyn and Aliya. Congratulations to a top-notch teacher!
