GRANGER TWP. — Trustees placed a fire department lieutenant on unpaid leave last week because of pending sex-related charges in Medina County Common Pleas Court.

Brandon Quinn, 35, faces 11 counts of gross sexual imposition. Two are third-degree felonies and the remaining are fourth-degree felonies. He is accused of having sexual conduct with a child younger than 13.

He pleaded not guilty to all counts May 1.

After he was indicted on the charges in April, Quinn was placed on paid administrative leave. That was changed to unpaid leave after a June 12 trustee meeting, township Fiscal Officer Donald Baker said Tuesday.

Baker said possible additional disciplinary actions against Quinn were not discussed at the meeting.

Court records show the alleged incidents occurred between January 2007 and June 2012.

Quinn was booked April 28 at the Medina County Jail and released the same day on $25,000 bond. He was ordered not to have contact with the alleged victim.

Attorney Bob Campbell, who is representing Quinn, said, “Brandon does maintain his innocence.”

He declined to comment about Quinn’s relationship with the victim. Quinn’s trial is set for Aug. 7 before Judge Christopher J. Collier.

Quinn has served as a lieutenant since January 2015 and has been with the department since January 2001. He is paid $90 per month as a lieutenant at the volunteer, part-time department, Baker said.

Quinn was placed on administrative leave in 2012 after a grand jury indictment charging him with voyeurism, Baker said.

Court records show that case was dismissed because the victim/witness failed to appear for the jury trial.

A message left for Granger Fire Chief Jim Paulett was not returned Tuesday.
