Two Strongsville residents suspected in a bank robbery in Brunswick last week were arrested Monday morning.
Robert Sutton, and Corinne Nalesnik, both 29, were found at Elm Haven Motel, 11094 Pearl Road, after police executed a search warrant in connection with the robbery at Citizens Bank, 3720 Center Road, on April 4, Brunswick police Lt. Robert Safran said.
Police recovered an unspecified amount of cash, a vehicle and drug paraphernalia, he said.
Sutton and Nalesnik are facing robbery and drug possession charges, the lieutenant said.
At 4:59 p.m. April 4, police responded to the bank after an unidentified man presented an employee with a note prior to the robbery. The note said, “This is a robbery … empty the drawer …” Safran said.
Witnesses saw the man running out of the bank and leaving in a gray Chevrolet Suburban that traveled west on Center Road.
Safran said police believe Nalesnik was driving the vehicle. The vehicle found at the motel was not the Suburban.
Police still are working to determine how much money was stolen from the bank, how much was recovered at the scene what was spent since the robbery occurred, Safran said.
Sutton and Nalesnik were being held Monday at the Medina County Jail.
Strongsville police assisted with the arrests.
