HINCKLEY TWP. — A masked man robbed a Huntington National Bank branch on Wednesday morning, fleeing on a bicycle, according to Hinckley police.

The robbery took place at 9:11 a.m. That’s when police said a male wearing a gray skull face mask walked inside the bank at 1296 Ridge Road and demanded money from a female teller.

There were no weapons used or threats made to any of the bank employees.

Police believe the man rode a dark colored bicycle to the bank. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspected thief then left on the bicycle heading north on Ridge Road.

“We believe the subject had a vehicle parked north of the bank and left the area in that vehicle — a silver colored SUV possibly a Ford Escape,” Hinckley police said in a Facebook post about the robbery.

The subject is described as a white male, about 6-foot-tall with a stocky to heavyset build. He was wearing a red Ohio State University pullover hooded sweatshirt with a gray “O” on the front. He was also wearing a skull face mask, black gloves, bluish-gray running pants and blue and gray Nike running shoes.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the person involved is asked to contact the Hinckley Police Department at (330) 278-7161 or the Akron Office of the FBI at (330) 535-6156.
