Seville-Guilford fire lieutenant pleads guilty to OVI

A Seville-Guilford fire lieutenant has pleaded guilty to a charge of operating a motor vehicle while impaired-first offense.

According to a Wadsworth police report, Christopher W. Gore, 32, of West Salem, initially was stopped at 2:17 a.m. April 7 in the 100 block of High Street for a license plate violation.

Following an investigation, Gore was arrested on an OVI charge, a first-degree misdemeanor, and taken to the police department where he later was released with a citation.

After initially pleading not guilty, Gore on Friday changed his plea to guilty, according to Wadsworth Municipal Court records. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 20.

“I really don’t have any comment,” Fire Chief Brad Winter said Tuesday of Gore’s charge. “His conviction court date is not until next month.”

Winter said he could not yet comment on whether Gore has faced, or will face, any disciplinary action as a result of the incident.
