Leslie “Les” Ziegler passed away Friday, July 25, 2008, in Medina.
Born in 1920, he was a lifelong resident on the family farm in York Township. He graduated from York High School in 1938. He enjoyed music, having sung in a male quartet, church choirs, and the Medina County Chorus, Grange Chorus and Barbershop Chorus for many years. Along with farming, he was employed at Buckeye Local School District for 48 years, 35 as a bus driver and an additional 13 as a supervisor. He was a member of the Mallet Creek Grange, York Home Builders Farm Bureau for more than 50 years, and a former member of Medina United Methodist Church.
He leaves his wife, Georgia (Hutton) Ziegler, whom he married in 1945; son, Donald Ziegler of Medina; daughter, Becky Ellison of Chippewa Lake; six grandchildren; and sister, Effie Roshon of Medina.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Henry Ziegler, and sister, Blooma Miller Lockard.
There will be no service or visiting hours.
Burial: Mallet Creek Cemetery, with a short private service for the family. The Rev. Jon Steingass will officiate.
The family suggests donations be made to the York United Methodist Church Building Fund, 6566 Norwalk Road, Medina, 44256.
