George E. Stecz Sr., 73, of Hinckley Township, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in Akron.
He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in Barberton and was owner/operator of Cleveland Metallizing, which was started in 1966.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Josephine (nee Sparaco); son, George E. (Patricia) Stecz Jr. of Lakewood; daughters, Susan Stecz of Tampa, Fla., and Michele (nee Stecz) Frame of Norton; grandchildren, Deidre, Victoria, Michael, Darla, Steven, Kyvan, Cassie and Kori; great-granddaughters, Lillian and Makayla; and sisters, Mary Baranchik, Marge Yakimick, Helen Studenic and Wilma Deleone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Zuzanna (nee Runyak) Stecz; brother, John Stecz; and sisters, Sophie Bittner and Catherine Heffelfinger.
Service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1605 Center Road, Hinckley. Pastor Scott Silcox will officiate.
Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Brunswick Chapel, 3300 Center Road (state Route 303 at Interstate 71).
