- On June 21 at 4:05 p.m., police responded to a call at Aspen Lake Apartments, 4502 Grand Lake Drive, about four juveniles throwing rocks at geese that lived around a pond on the property. The juveniles fled when they saw police, but two 14- and two 11-year-old boys from Maple Heights and Warrensville Heights soon were found. The four were charged with trespassing.
- On July 3 at 1:30 a.m., police noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at Mapleside Restaurant, 294 Pearl Road. When they approached the vehicle, the occupants — all juveniles — attempted to drive away, but police blocked their exit. A police dog was called and a 17-year-old male Brook Park resident reportedly admitted to possessing marijuana, which was found under the front seat. Police also found a marijuana blunt and charged the teenager with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
- On July 10 at 2:37 a.m., police pulled over Drew Mitchell, 41, of Cleveland, who was driving in the 4000 block of Center Road, for outstanding warrants from the Brunswick and Parma police departments. Mitchell allegedly provided police with a false name, birth date and Social Security number. Police used an Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles photo to identify Mitchell, who was charged with driving under a suspended license, driving without a license and providing false information.
- On July 10 at 3:46 a.m., Robert Kelly, 19, of 2901 Substation Road, Brunswick Hills Township, was found sleeping in the back seat of his car in the 3000 block of Holly Drive. Kelly was charged with underage possession of alcohol and released.
- On July 10 at 7:11 p.m., police stopped a boy at the intersection of South Carpenter and Laurel roads who was smoking a cigarette and attempted to hide it from police. Police confiscated a partial pack of Marlboro 100s and charged the 16-year-old with underage possession of tobacco.
- On July 10 at 11:24 a.m., police responded to a call that three boys were attempting to break into the former Annabella’s at 922 Pearl Road. When police arrived, two 15-year-old boys and one 16-year-old boy ran into the nearby woods, but were apprehended and charged with breaking and entering, criminal damaging and obstructing official business. The boys are all Brunswick residents.
- On Friday at 1:43 a.m., a clerk at Circle K, 2770 Boston Road, called police to report two men were loitering around the store. Police found Ryan H. Pfleger, 19, of Strongsville, sleeping behind the building next to the store clerk’s car. Philip Hammond, 47, of Cleveland was outside the store. Police reportedly smelled alcohol on Hammond and noticed his poor motor skills when he had difficulty picking up a lit cigarette. Police arrested the pair and charged each with disorderly conduct and trespassing. Hammond allegedly was uncooperative with police during the booking process and also was charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
- On Saturday at 2:18 a.m., Sara Warner, 19, of Cleveland, came to the Brunswick police station to report she had keyed another woman’s car in the 200 block of Hemlock Street. Warner said she would pay for the estimated $400 worth of damage and was cited for criminal damaging
- On Saturday at 7:56 p.m., police were called to a home in the 4000 block of Wolff Drive about an unruly 17-year-old girl. The girl reportedly charged more than $100 on her father’s credit card and became violent toward her family when confronted. She was charged with theft.
- On Sunday at 12:39 a.m., police responded to a call about a driver who was weaving. Police pulled over Craig Fierle, 49, of 2046 Josephine Blvd., and reportedly found five pills on him for which he did not have a prescription. Fierle was charged with driving under the influence and drug abuse.
- On Sunday at 12:53 a.m., police responded to a call about a possible drunken driver leaving the Shell gas station at 3016 Center Road. Police pulled over Kevin Colen, 25, of 2342 Browning Road, Brunswick Hills Township, in the 1400 block of South Carpenter Road and gave him several sobriety tests, which Colen failed. While searching his vehicle, police reportedly found a marijuana blunt and a foil pipe with burnt marijuana residue inside. Colen was charged with driving under the influence, drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business after he was uncooperative during the booking process.
- On Sunday at 5:19 p.m., police noticed a suspicious car in the 200 block of Sheri Drive. A random check revealed the car had expired plates, and the driver, John T. Musciasci, 55, of Parma, was wanted on a warrant from Strongsville police. Upon searching the vehicle, police reportedly found a spoon with heroin residue on it and two hypodermic needles. Musciasci was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles. Musciasci was turned over to Strongsville police.
