MEDINA — A Montville Township juvenile called in a fake bank robbery at Buehler’s Tuesday afternoon, causing chaos as police surrounded the store and checked neighboring banks, police said.
The call was made from a pay phone inside Buehler’s, 275 Forest Meadows Drive, at 11:11 a.m. by a boy in his preteens, said Lt. Bob Starcher. After police surrounded the building, spoke with store management and reviewed the surveillance video footage, they discovered the boy was still in the store with his father, the lieutenant said.
Police approached the father, who reportedly was oblivious to the phone call. Based on information discovered during an interview, police decided not to press charges, Starcher said.
