Timothy A. “Timmy” Pope, 44, of Jackson Township, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008.
He was born Sept. 19, 1963, in Lodi and lived in Jackson Township since 1991. Mr. Pope worked with A.C. Motors in North Canton as an independent car dealer. He formerly owned and operated Canal Fulton Motor Cars for 11 years. He was an avid golfer and belonged to Shady Hollow Country Club. In addition to his love of cars, he enjoyed boating, yard work, entertaining and cooking. Mr. Pope particularly enjoyed the company of senior citizens and he was a committed caregiver to longtime friend Bill Brown.
Mr. Pope is survived by his companion in life of 19 years and mother of his children, Jenni Oplinger; sons, Jake and Drew; parents, Leonard and Lois Pope; sister, Teresa (Lonnie) Russell of Mansfield; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and pets, Buddy and Martini.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Heitger Funeral Service-Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. NW (state Route 241), Massillon. The Rev. Brian George will officiate.
Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park.
A celebration of his life will follow at Myers Lake Ballroom.
Visiting hours: 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
