Lois Lillian Davis

July 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Lois Lillian (Kendall) Davis, 72, of Lewisburg, Pa., passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at her home after a two-year battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Edgemont, Md., to Jason L. and Isabelle (Barkdoll) Kendall. In addition to being a mother, housewife and home manager, she assisted her husband with his work for Pangborn Corp., as well as volunteering with the American Red Cross in Medina; Norristown, Pa.; and Howell, Mich. After retiring and moving back to Pennsylvania, she volunteered for 12 years at the Muncy Valley Hospital, where she was an active member and past president of the hospital auxiliary, and also assisted with the annual Lights of Love. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Montoursville, Pa., and served as a Eucharistic lay minister until her illness.

She is survived by her husband, D. Burton Davis, whom she married Dec. 22, 1952, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Lappans, Md., with the Rev. Walter N. McKinley officiating; daughter, Mary Baker; sons, J. Tadd (Nyoka) Davis of Lodi and Kyle K. (Wendy) Davis of Selinsgrove, Pa.; two grandsons; four granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

Memorial service: 5 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Grenoble Funeral Home, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, Pa. The Rev. Nelson Kuule Baliira will officiate.

Visiting hours: 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, and because of Lillian’s dedication to the auxiliary, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary, 215 E. Water St., Muncy, PA 17756.
