- Police on foot patrol at Birch Manor Apartments, 545 Birch Hill Drive, heard loud music from an apartment at 3:09 a.m. Monday and observed through a window two men and two women in their late teens and several open cans of beer around them. An officer knocked on the door and the resident, Alex Gunner, 19, of Apt. 18, told him he could enter the apartment. The officer reportedly observed a metal smoking pipe and marijuana in the apartment and Gunner said someone must have left it behind, but he would take the charges since it was his apartment. Two other people in the residence, Travis Tomsik, 18, and Sharon Tomsik, 19, both of 1218 N. Carpenter Road, Brunswick, were cited for underage alcohol consumption, a first-degree misdemeanor. The fourth person, a 17-year-old Lakewood girl, will be charged through juvenile court. Gunner was cited for underage alcohol consumption, furnishing alcohol to minors, possession of marijuana, all first-degree misdemeanors; possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor; and loud music, a minor misdemeanor.
- Police on bike patrol riding through Liberty Plaza, 265 Abbeyville Road, heard yelling at 10:50 p.m. Monday and observed several people standing in front of an apartment window, passing what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette to each other. An officer went up to the open sliding glass door and identified himself before asking about the suspected marijuana. Two people observed in the window, Gregory Lee, 25, of Wellington, and Carolyn Grace, 21, of 265 Abbeyville Road, Apt. 90, were cited for possession of marijuana, a first-degree misdemeanor. Police reportedly noticed a glass smoking pipe and two packs of Basic cigarettes on the kitchen table where a man, Ryan Anderson, 25, of Westlake, and a 23-year-old Medina woman were sitting. Both denied owning the pipe, but Anderson admitted to owning the cigarettes and reportedly gave permission for the officer to search them. The first pack contained cigarettes and the second pack reportedly had a rolled up dollar bill and a small plastic bag with white powder in it. Anderson said the second pack was not his, but was from the car of his friend, Johnny Schoolcraft, 33, of 417 Northvale Drive, Chippewa Lake. Schoolcraft said Anderson was right, but he reportedly bought marijuana from an unknown man in Cleveland, who must have left the cigarettes in the car. Schoolcraft was searched and a bag of marijuana and $2,000 reportedly were found. He was cited for possession of marijuana, a first-degree misdemeanor. Anderson was charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.
- Police were called about a loud party at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday at 649 Continental Drive. Upon arrival, they noticed a woman, Faith Rhodes, 18, of 4757 Salems Way, Medina Township, in the front lawn, who allegedly admitted to drinking four beers. Police then observed several people jump over the backyard fence, and four of them were located and brought back to the house. They all reportedly took Breathalyzer tests and tested positive for alcohol consumption. Bradley Thorsky, 19, of 3560 Turnberry Drive, Medina Township; David Hooser, 19, of 5543 Brook Run Drive, Montville Township; Christopher Arther, 19, of 330 W. Liberty St.; and Rhodes were cited for underage alcohol consumption, a first-degree misdemeanor. Michael Dumont, 20, of the residence, was cited for underage alcohol consumption and furnishing alcohol to minors, both first-degree misdemeanors. Rhodes told police another man, Nathan Miller, 19, of 382 Halifax Lane, who left when police arrived, had the keys to her car. An officer stayed behind after the rest left and approached Miller upon his return to the house. Miller was cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor (Rhodes) and obstructing official police business, both first-degree misdemeanors.
- At 9:23 p.m. Friday, it was reported a Sony PlayStation 3, three wireless controllers, six video games, a PlayStation headset, an Olympus 8.0 digital camera and a GameBoy Advance were stolen from a residence in the 200 block of North Spring Grove Street.
- At 5:02 a.m. Sunday, it was reported four packs of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and six packs of Newport cigarettes, valued at $35.81, were stolen from Kmart, 1105 N. Court St.
