- A resident of the 300 block of Crestwood Avenue reported two packs of Orbit chewing gum were taken from his 2004 Honda between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.
- Lucas Jewett, 19, of 226 Fixler Road, Sharon Township, was charged with criminal damaging at 4 p.m. Sunday after he allegedly damaged a room at the Legacy Inn, 810 High St.
- While on Broad Street at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, an officer ran the plates of Eric V. Pearce, 21, of 17 S. Pleasant View Drive. The officer found Pearce was driving with a suspended license and subsequently pulled him over.
The officer charged Pearce with driving under a noncompliance suspension and informed Pearce he was seizing the vehicle and Pearce could take anything out of the vehicle he wanted.
Pearce informed the officer he had a 9mm handgun under the vehicle’s seat. Pearce was charged with improperly handling firearms.
- A resident of the 200 block of Park Street reported a swastika-type emblem was spray-painted on the rear side of his shed between 10 p.m. May 9 and 2 p.m. Monday. In addition, benches, playground equipment and signs at Miller Park on Park Street were spray-painted with nicknames and some profanity.
- An employee of Holmesbrook Ace Hardware, 122 High St., reported $952.41 was taken from the store between 8 p.m. May 9 and 8 a.m. May 10. There were no signs of forced entry.
- Residents of Broad Street and Highland Avenue reported there was a 15-year-old boy shooting BBs at passing cars around 4 p.m. May 9. Officers confiscated the BB gun and the boy’s mother asked them not to return it. Criminal mischief charges are pending.
- An owner of one of the portions of the former Blue Tip match factory at 188 S. Lyman St. reported several of the building’s windows were damaged between 2 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday. Rocks were found inside the building.
- Five residents in the 100 and 200 blocks of Northpark Drive reported items were taken from their unlocked vehicles between 8 p.m. Monday and 4 a.m. Tuesday.
- A resident of First Street reported his vehicle was stolen between 1 and 8:36 a.m. Tuesday. He said he brought an Akron man home and when he woke up his car keys, vehicle and the Akron man were gone.
