Gas pump inspections begin soon in county

May 9th, 2008 · No Comments

MEDINA — The Medina County Auditor’s Office will begin annual inspections of all the county’s gas pumps six weeks earlier than usual, spokeswoman Nancy Girton said.

“With the incredible rise in gas prices, we want to make sure all pumps work properly,” she said.

The inspections usually start in July and take employees from the Weights and Measures Department about three or four months to check every gas pump in the county.

During an inspection, the employee fills a 5-gallon can to make sure the pump’s display shows the same amount, Girton said.

The auditor’s office has not received any complaints about malfunctioning pumps yet, she said, but anyone who thinks they did not get the correct amount of gas can call 330-725-9756.
