Solid start, ugly finish

November 12th, 2007 · No Comments

PITTSBURGH — First place in the AFC North. A four-game winning streak. A rivalry revitalized.
So much was there for the Browns’ taking Sunday at Heinz Field — and all of it got away. Just like Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger slipping through the grasp of aging Browns linebacker Willie McGinest.
Steelers 31, Browns 28.
A half of bad […]

Browns notes: Cribbs has special day

PITTSBURGH — Joshua Cribbs had an afternoon to remember on a Sunday to forget for the Browns.
The special teams dynamo returned one kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and ran back another 90 yards to set up a score. His heroics weren’t enough, though, as Pittsburgh rallied for a 31-28 win over Cleveland.

Old Anderson returns in second half

November 12th, 2007 · No Comments

PITTSBURGH — Derek Anderson has seen better days — like the ones he enjoyed as the Browns’ starting quarterback this season prior to Sunday.
After resembling a Pro Bowler since taking over for Charlie Frye in Week 2, Anderson finally looked like the castoff Cleveland acquired from the Ravens in a disappointing 31-28 loss to the […]
